Maharaj & Co.

Maharaj & Co. is located on Dharampura Singar Cinema Road. Being on the cinema road means there’s always something happening right outside our door. When a big movie is playing, the whole street fills up with people and bikes, and the noise is incredible. Our building is an older one, and the paint is peeling a little bit near the roofline. We don't mind it much because it’s a solid place to work. Inside, it’s a bit dark because the windows are small, but we have plenty of lamps around the desks. Maharaj & Co. has a very old-fashioned feel to it. We still use some heavy wooden furniture that’s probably been here since the business started. There’s a faint smell of dust and tea in the air most of the time. We don't have a lot of space for visitors to sit, so people usually just stand around and talk while we handle things. The front door is made of heavy iron and it makes a loud clanking sound when you lock it up at night. We’ve got a small calendar on the wall with the dates crossed out in red ink. It’s a simple, straightforward operation. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local company on a busy road, doing what we’ve always done. It’s a bit worn out but it’s our home.
