Madan Readymade

We’ve got shop numbers 15 and 16 here in Gandhi Nagar. If you know this market, you know how packed and frantic it gets. We deal in readymade clothes, mostly shirts and trousers that are ready to wear. The shop is usually full of bundles wrapped in plastic, waiting to be sent out or picked up. We don’t have much space to move around once the morning stock arrives. It’s a lot of lifting and moving bags. We’ve been in this market for years and have seen it grow bigger and louder. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually our only break. We aren't trying to be fancy or corporate. We just sell clothes that people can use every day. Some days the heat in the market is really something, and we just keep the shutters half-down to stay cool. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit community even if it looks like a mess to outsiders. We spend our time checking sizes and making sure the piles don't fall over. Sometimes a customer wants to see ten different things and then doesn't buy anything, but that's just part of the business. We keep the doors open and see what the day brings. It's a busy, dusty, and honest way to make a living in this part of town. The light switch for the back room is tricky, but you learn.
