Ludhiana Spare Centre

If you go down to Lajpat Nagar 27, you’ll find us surrounded by stacks of parts and the smell of engine oil. Ludhiana Spare Centre is one of those places where you might have to dig a bit to find exactly what you need, but we usually have it tucked away somewhere. We’ve been here long enough that the shelves are pretty crowded. It isn't a showroom where everything is sparkling clean; it’s a working shop. We spend most of our time with grease on our hands, looking through catalogs or checking the back room for a specific bolt or a gasket. Customers come in looking frustrated because their machine or vehicle broke down, and we do what we can to find the right replacement. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cramped when a big delivery comes in, and we have to pile boxes wherever they fit. There’s no corporate hierarchy here, just a couple of us who know where everything is. We don't use fancy computer systems for everything; sometimes a handwritten note works better. The traffic in Lajpat Nagar can be a real headache, but we’re used to it by now. People stop by not just for parts but sometimes just to ask for advice on a fix they’re trying to do at home. We just keep the doors open and keep sorting through the inventory, making sure the local mechanics and owners have a place to go.
