Leo Ice Cream

Down at 1 Haibowal Kalan, at Plot Number 56, is where we make Leo Ice Cream. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here. We aren't one of those massive factories you see on TV. It’s just a small place where we keep the freezers running and manage the daily batches. The area of Haibowal Kalan is where I grew up, so it felt right to have the business here. During the summer, it gets incredibly busy, and we’re all hands on deck trying to keep up with the demand. The floors are usually a bit wet from the cleaning we do to keep things tidy. We don't spend money on big advertisements or colorful billboards. Most people find out about us just by seeing the name on the carts or hearing from a neighbor who liked what they bought. It’s a lot of physical work, moving the heavy containers and making sure the temperatures stay just right. Sometimes a machine breaks down at the worst possible time, and we have to scramble to fix it before things melt. It’s stressful but we’ve gotten good at handling it over the years. We just want to make something that people enjoy on a hot day. There’s no big corporate philosophy behind it. We just work at Plot Number 56 and try to keep the freezers full of stuff people want.
