Our spot is at 1660 Guru Nanak Coloney, right by the Merado Centre in Ludhiana. Leighton India Contractors Ltd. operates from here, and it's a typical Punjab setting. The colony is usually lively, and being near the centre makes it easy for folks to find us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our jobs right. The office is functional. We have some desks, some old files, and a lot of tea cups lying around. It feels like a real workplace, not a showroom. Working in Ludhiana means dealing with all kinds of weather, from the heat to the cold winters. We just keep the heaters or fans going and stay focused. Sometimes the traffic near Merado Centre is a mess, so we've learned to be patient. We handle different types of contracting work. It’s mostly about managing people and materials. No one here wears a suit unless they really have to. We prefer just wearing whatever is comfortable for a long day. If you drop by, you’ll probably find us mid-conversation about a project. We don't have a receptionist in a uniform. It's just whoever is closest to the door. That's how we’ve always done it here. It works for us and the people we work with. We just try to stay busy and keep the projects moving forward without too much fuss.
