Chhajuram & Company

Chhajuram & Company is situated at No. 621 in Mandi Kesar Gunj, right in the Lakkar Bazar area. This part of town always smells a bit like wood and dust because of all the markets nearby. Our place is pretty old-fashioned. We have high ceilings and heavy doors that groan every time we open them in the morning. We’ve been at this address for a very long time. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to if you wanted something sleek and shiny. We have old ledgers and wooden benches that have been around since before I started working here. The daily routine is pretty much the same every day. We check the inventory, talk to the transporters, and handle whatever needs doing in the warehouse area. It’s a lot of physical work, moving crates and checking labels. Mandi Kesar Gunj can get quite muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors. We don't really have a front office or anything. Most of the business happens right there on the floor amongst the stock. We know our regulars and they know us. There’s no need for fancy talk. We just do the job and head home. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment arrives, but mostly we stick to the regular hours. It’s just how things are done here in Lakkar Bazar. We don't plan on changing much.
