Jonny General Store

This is Jonny General Store over on Street No 8 in Ludhiana. We are right across from the Gurudwara, so it is usually a busy spot with people coming and going for prayers. I started this place because it seemed like the right thing to do in this part of Khud. Ludhiana is a crowded city and there is always noise from the scooters and rickshaws passing by outside. Inside the store, it is a bit more manageable. I keep the basic things people run out of at home, like soap or snacks. It is a simple setup with wooden shelves and a small counter. Sometimes the kids come in after school and it gets a bit loud. I have been on this street for a while now and know most of the families living around here. It is not a fancy shop by any means. The floor is a bit worn and some of the paint is peeling near the door. But it stays clean and I make sure everything is where it should be. Dealing with the distributors is the hardest part of the job, especially when the trucks get stuck in traffic. I usually stay open until quite late in the evening. People often realize they forgot something for dinner and run over here at the last minute. That is just how it is in a neighborhood like this one.
