Jawahar Bartan

We run a small shop called Jawahar Bartan over on Daba Lohara Road. Our shop number is 60/35-Z/19 in Block Number 29. It’s in the Shimlapuri area, right near Krishna Convent School. We sell all kinds of utensils and kitchen items. The shelves are packed with stainless steel and brass pots and pans. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside when we get a new delivery and have to find room for everything. People from the neighborhood come to us when they need something for their kitchen or if they are setting up a new house. We have been in this spot for years. It’s a noisy street with kids going to school and bikes zooming past all the time. We don't do any big marketing or have a catalog. Our customers are mostly locals who have been coming to us for a long time. My wife helps me out in the shop during the busy evening hours when everyone is home from work. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy, but we know where every single item is kept. It’s not a polished store, just a regular place where you can find a good ladle or a sturdy pressure cooker. We just open up in the morning and stay until late evening most days. It’s how we make our living.
