Janta General Store

Janta General Store sits in Partap Nagar, Ludhiana. We are right on Bahadur Ke Road, near the New Dana Mandi. Since we are close to the market area, it stays busy with trucks and people moving goods. Our shop is a place where locals and workers come to buy their small daily needs. We sell stuff like matches, soap, notebooks, and basic food items. It is not a supermarket, just a small general store. We have been here for a while and have seen the road change quite a bit. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit a lot of different things on the shelves. You might find a bucket next to a box of biscuits. We don't spend money on fancy displays. Everything is just laid out where it fits. In the winter, Ludhiana gets cold, so we spend a lot of time inside with the tea kettle going. People stop by not just to buy things but sometimes just to ask for directions or check the time. We know the regulars well. We deal in cash mostly and keep things simple. Running a shop near the Mandi means we have to be ready early in the morning. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We just keep the doors open and wait for the customers to come in. There is always something to do, like checking the jars or dusting the counter.
