Our place is in Guru Harrai Nagar, right in the Bhattian area. If you find Nagesh Knitwear, we are just around the back. It’s a bit tucked away, so people sometimes get lost the first time they visit. 57 is the number on the gate. We do exports, mostly knitwear and things like that. It’s busy. There is always someone loading or unloading a truck. The street isn't very wide, so it gets tight. We’ve been in this spot for a few years. It’s a practical workspace. We don’t have a receptionist; usually, you just walk in and find someone in the office or on the floor. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend our time on the garments instead. We handle the stitching, the checking, and the packing. It gets noisy with the sewing machines going all at once. Sometimes we have to work late to make sure the containers are ready on time. Ludhiana is known for this kind of work, and we are just another part of it. We drink a lot of chai during the day. It’s a simple setup. We know the other business owners on the street. It’s just how we earn a living. We keep it straightforward and don’t make a fuss about much. The piles of fabric get high but we get through them.
