Jain Vinay Kumar Architect

I run things out of 3 D Studio, which is located at House Number 2723 in Gurdev Nagar. It’s a residential area, so it’s pretty calm most of the time, which is good when you’re trying to focus on architectural drawings. I’ve been doing this for quite some time now. My day usually starts with a stack of blueprints and a very large cup of tea. Being an architect means I spend a lot of my life looking at lines and numbers. I try to figure out how to make a building safe and look okay at the same time. People in Gurdev Nagar know the office; it’s just a part of the neighborhood. The studio isn’t huge, but it has enough room for my drafting table and the computer setup I use for the more technical stuff. I don't really have a sales pitch. People usually find me through word of mouth or because they saw a house I worked on nearby. It’s a lot of detail work—checking the thickness of walls and making sure the plumbing goes where it’s supposed to. Sometimes clients come in with sketches they made on napkins, and we have to turn those into something a builder can actually use. It’s a slow process sometimes, but I like seeing something go from a drawing to a real structure. It’s just me here, keeping things organized and making sure the plans are right before they leave my desk.
