About Jain Akshay Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Ludhiana
I've been working from house number 7238 in Durgapuri for a while now. Most days it's just me and the drawing board or the computer, trying to make sense of what someone wants for their home. Haibowal Kalan is a busy spot, and things change fast around here. People come in with ideas, sometimes they're practical, sometimes they're a bit over the top, and my job is to just figure out how to put it on paper so it actually works. It isn’t always glamorous. There’s a lot of back and forth with maps and municipal rules that can be a real headache. I spend a lot of time checking on measurements and making sure the lines match up. It's mostly about solving puzzles. If someone wants an extra room where it doesn't seem to fit, we sit down and look at the space until we find a way. My desk is usually covered in blueprints and old coffee mugs. It’s a quiet place to work, tucked away in the neighborhood. I don’t have a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where the actual planning gets done. Sometimes the neighbors pop by just to say hello or ask a quick question about a wall they want to move. That’s how it goes here in Durgapuri. We just keep drawing and planning, one project at a time, trying to keep things moving forward.
