Jagjit Motors

Industrial Area A is a place where you expect to get your clothes a little dirty. At Jagjit Motors, located at 2793/2A, we are right in the thick of it. The shop floor is usually covered in a bit of oil or grease because that’s just the nature of working with motors. We have parts for all sorts of vehicles lying around in wooden crates and on metal racks. It’s noisy because of the other factories and workshops nearby, but you stop noticing it after the first hour. I usually start the day with a cup of tea and a look at the list of what needs to be fixed or delivered. Some of the tools we use are older than I am, but they still work better than the new ones. It’s a practical place; we don't have a fancy waiting room or air conditioning in the back. Customers usually know what they want and we just get it for them without a lot of fuss. The air is thick with the smell of diesel and metal shavings. Sometimes the heavy trucks blocking the road make it hard to get deliveries in, but we manage. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, my back usually aches a bit, but it’s a good way to earn a living in Ludhiana. We just keep the motors running and the grease moving every single day.
