Our unit is located out in Jhande Village Industrial Area, just off G T Road at 595/8. It’s a heavy environment here at Ishmeet Forgings. You can hear the machines from the road before you even walk through the gate. We deal with metal every single day, heating it up and shaping it into what it needs to be. It’s hot work, especially during the summer months when the furnaces are going full tilt. We aren't sitting in air-conditioned offices; most of us are on the floor making sure the hammers and presses are doing their job right. The floors are usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, but that’s just how a forging shop is. We’ve been here for a while, and the local area has grown up around us. We have a crew that’s been with us through a lot of long shifts. It’s not the kind of work where you stay clean, but it’s satisfying to see a raw piece of metal turn into a finished part. We spend a lot of time checking measurements and making sure nothing is warped. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the whole day fixing a machine, which puts us behind, but we catch up. It’s a practical, gritty place. We just focus on the forging and making sure we get the orders out to the trucks waiting on the G T Road.
