Inderjit Forgings (P) Ltd. is located in Phase-V of the Focal Point area at D-131. If you know the neighborhood, you know it’s thick with the smell of hot metal and grease. That’s just the way forging works. We have these heavy hammers and presses that make the ground shake a little when they’re running at full speed. Our days start early, usually before the sun is even fully up, getting the furnaces ready. It takes a lot of heat to get the steel soft enough to shape. The workers here wear heavy boots and gear because it gets incredibly hot near the floor. We aren't really the type to sit around in air-conditioned rooms talking about strategy. Usually, we are out there checking the dies or looking at the pieces that just came off the line to see if they look right. The yard is usually full of raw material and scrap metal waiting to be dealt with. Sometimes the trucks get backed up at the gate, and there’s a bit of shouting to get things moving. It’s a rough environment but we’ve gotten used to the soot and the noise over the years. We just try to keep the machines running and the production moving along without too many breakdowns or delays. There is always a lot of heavy lifting involved and it keeps everyone quite tired by the end of the shift.
