Harsharan Singh Architect

Our office is at 3620, Sampuran Colony, over in the South Model Gram area. It’s a residential-feeling spot which makes it feel a lot less like a stiff place of business. Harsharan is usually here most mornings, usually with a pencil behind his ear or sketching something out on a notepad. The space is filled with old books on architecture and stacks of papers that we really should organize better. It’s a comfortable setup though, with some old wooden chairs and a big table where we spread everything out. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, so we don't get too distracted by what's happening outside. We spend our days looking at maps, drawing up floor plans, and trying to figure out how to make a space work better for the people living in it. We don't use a lot of fancy jargon or try to sound like we’re from a big city firm. We’re just local people who know how buildings go together. Sometimes a neighbor will pop their head in just to say hello, and we’ll take a minute to chat before getting back to the computer screens. It’s a steady pace of work without too much stress. We like being in Sampuran Colony because it feels like being part of a community rather than just another business on a main road. The office might be a bit small and cluttered, but it’s where all the work actually happens and where we spend most of our time.
