Guru Nanak Bag House

Our place, Guru Nanak Bag House, is at 37/2 near the Clock Bazar area. We are right by Panchavati Circle on C G Road in Chaura Bazar. It’s a very central spot, so there are always people walking past our windows. We have a lot of bags on display, everything from school satchels to travel gear. The shop has been here for years, and we’ve seen the market change quite a bit in that time. Chaura Bazar is always humming with activity, especially near the circle. We open up early and start by cleaning the glass and making sure the bags are lined up neatly. It’s just us working here, so if it gets busy, customers sometimes have to wait a minute while we finish with someone else. We don’t mind the wait, and most people around here are used to the pace of the bazar. We don’t use any high-tech equipment to sell our bags. We just talk to people, show them the material, and let them decide. The space is a bit tight with all the inventory we try to keep, but it works for us. Living and working near Clock Bazar means you are always in the middle of things. We’ve made a lot of friends among the other shopkeepers over the years. It’s a simple life, focused on the shop and the bags we provide to the local community while the traffic goes around Panchavati Circle all day.
