Gupta Neha Architect

The office is located at H.No.771 in Patel Nagar, which is right in the Civil Lines area. It is very close to Dandi Swami Chowk, so it’s not hard to find if you are familiar with that part of the city. Since it’s a house-number address, it feels a lot more like a home than a cold office building. Gupta Neha Architect has been set up here for some time. There are drawing boards in what used to be a living room, and the kitchen is mostly used for making endless cups of coffee. We have a lot of rolled-up blueprints standing in the corners like tall tubes. The garden outside is a bit overgrown, but it’s nice to look at when you’re stuck on a design problem. Sometimes we have to go out on site visits, so the office sits empty for a few hours with just the phone ringing. It’s a quiet street for the most part, except when school lets out. We don't have any big corporate signs, just a small plate near the gate. It’s a simple way to work, and it keeps us close to the projects we are handling. The computer fans hum all day, and there is usually a stack of mail on the entryway table that needs sorting. It gets a bit cold in the winter because the old windows have some drafts, but we just wear sweaters and keep on going with our work.
