Ganpati Karyana Store

Down at 1840/7/1, 4 in Shimlapuri, you’ll see Ganpati Karyana Store. This part of Ludhiana is always moving, and our shop is right in the middle of that daily rush. We deal mostly with bulk groceries like flour, sugar, and different kinds of pulses. The sacks are heavy, and moving them around every morning is quite a workout for us. Dust from the street often blows in, so we have to keep cleaning the glass jars on the front counter. It’s a simple setup with high shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We use a ladder to get the stuff from the top, which can be a bit slow when the store is full of people. Most of our customers are from the nearby streets in Shimlapuri who need their monthly rations. We don't use any fancy barcodes; we just remember the prices or look them up in a worn-out diary we keep near the scale. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to complain about the heat or talk about local news while we pack their bags. The floor is made of old stone, and it’s seen better days, but it holds up. We try to keep everything in stock, but sometimes the suppliers are late, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It is just a regular karyana shop doing its bit in a busy neighborhood. We stay busy with the weighing and the packing throughout the whole day.
