Electrical Project Engineer

I’m based over in Anand Vihar, New Delhi, working as an Electrical Project Engineer. Most of my days are spent looking at plans or being out where the actual work is happening. It’s a busy part of the city and there’s always something going on with power systems or wiring setups around here. People usually just call when they have a project that needs sorting out from start to finish. I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I know the area pretty well. It isn't always easy, especially with the traffic in Delhi, but getting to a site and seeing everything coming together makes it worth it. I handle the technical side of things, making sure the drawings match what’s being put into the walls and ceilings. Sometimes things don’t go exactly to plan, so there is a lot of troubleshooting involved. It’s mostly just me and a few others trying to get things done right. Being in Anand Vihar is convenient for reaching different parts of the city, though I spend a lot of time just managing the local stuff. It’s honest work and keeps me on my toes. I don't really have a big office or anything fancy, just a desk and my tools.
