Eastman Cast And Forge Ltd

We are over here on G.T. Road, not too far from the airport. If you’ve driven that way, you know how the traffic gets around the turnoff. Our place, Eastman Cast And Forge Ltd, has been sitting on this plot for a good while now. It’s a bit of a noisy spot because of the forge and the planes overhead, but we’re used to it. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the hammers and the heat from the furnaces. The guys start early, usually before the sun gets too high, because the shop floor warms up fast. We do a lot of heavy lifting and metalwork here. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning everywhere; it’s more of a boots-on-the-ground kind of setup. Most of the staff have been coming here for years, catching the same bus or riding their bikes down the main road. We keep the gates open during the day for the trucks coming in and out. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, but that’s just part of being near the highway. We have our tea breaks in the back where it’s a bit quieter. It’s honest work, mostly just making sure the casts are right and the forging hits the marks. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. It's a practical place, nothing more, nothing less. Just people working with metal every day until the sun goes down and the traffic thins out.
