Duro Forgings

Duro Forgings is over in Industrial Area-A, specifically at H-4 in the Textile Colony. It’s a real industrial setting, so don’t expect anything pretty. The work we do involves a lot of heat and heavy machinery, so the air inside is usually warm and smells like hot iron. We’ve got a team that has been doing this for a long time, and they don’t say much while they’re working. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because there are always tools or materials being moved around. Our office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the paperwork, and even that usually has a bit of grime on the ledges. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the day is spent out where the actual forging happens. It’s loud, and you have to shout sometimes to be heard over the thumping of the presses. We take our breaks when we can, usually sitting on whatever is available and drinking some tea. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to make sure the pieces we forge are solid and meet the specs we were given. It is hard, physical work, and we go home every day feeling like we’ve actually done something with our hands.
