Dr. Atul Mishra

My office is over at 44-G in Kichlu Nagar, but a lot of my time is spent at the Department of Surgery at DMC Hospital here in Ludhiana. It’s a busy life, mostly divided between seeing people at the clinic and handling things at the hospital. Surgery is what I do every day. It’s not really a job you leave behind at five o’clock. People come in with all sorts of issues, and I try to help them understand what’s going on with their health. Kichlu Nagar is a familiar area for most people around here, so finding the clinic isn't too hard. The hospital side is much more hectic, obviously. There’s always someone waiting or a procedure that needs attention. I’ve lived and worked in Ludhiana for a long time now. You get to know the families and the local stories. It’s a lot of long hours and standing on your feet, but that is just how it goes in the surgical wing. I don’t spend much time on fancy office decor or anything like that. The clinic is simple and functional. When I’m at DMC, it’s all about the patients and the surgical schedule. It’s a straightforward practice. No big slogans, just medical work and trying to get people back on their feet. Some days are harder than others, especially when the waiting room is full, but we manage to get through the list by the end of the evening. It is just the way work is.
