Deepak International Ltd.

Our place is on Deepak Road, right in Industrial Area B. It’s a noisy part of the world, full of heavy machinery and the sound of metal hitting metal. Deepak International Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for a long time. The gates are usually open early because the trucks start lining up before eight. Inside, it’s mostly open space with high ceilings and a lot of steel structures. We have these big overhead lights, but during the day, the sun comes through the high windows and lights up the dust motes. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. Most of us are in sturdy shoes and clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. There’s a lot of movement—forklifts going back and forth and people calling out over the noise. We have a small cabin for the accounts and management, but even in there, you can feel the vibration from the factory floor. The tea lady comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when things quiet down for five minutes. We deal with a lot of international shipping, so there are always wooden pallets and plastic wrap everywhere. The road outside is full of potholes from the heavy traffic, so driving in can be a bit of a challenge in a small car. We just focus on getting the production numbers right and the crates loaded up for the next transport.
