Davinder General Store

If you go to the Jitendra Shopping Centre in Basti Jodhewal, you will find Davinder General Store. It’s tucked in there with a few other local shops. This area of Ludhiana is always moving and there is always some noise from the street. We have been here for a while now. The shopping centre isn't like those huge modern malls; it’s more of a local gathering of shops for the neighborhood. We sell things like soaps, shampoos, and kitchen essentials that people use every day. The morning rush is usually the busiest time when people are heading out to work. Basti Jodhewal has a lot of energy and sometimes it’s hard to find parking near the centre, but people manage to find a spot. The store itself is pretty simple and unadorned. I keep the shelves stocked as much as I can by myself. It’s a lot of lifting heavy boxes and checking delivery lists. I’ve been working here long enough that I know where every single item is kept without even looking. We don’t do any fancy displays or have bright neon lights. It’s just products on metal shelves where you can easily see them. Sometimes I’m in a hurry to get things done so the shop stays organized. It’s a practical place for people who just want to get their shopping done. Most folks come in for one thing and end up buying a few more.
