Dashmesh Mold & Tools

Located at 56, Longowal Colony, right in Industrial Area-C of Dhandari Kalan. This part of Ludhiana is always full of iron and steel. We spend our days making molds and various tools. It is heavy work. The floor is concrete and usually has metal shavings all over it. We try to sweep up, but as soon as the machines start, it is back again. We have a couple of lathe machines and some milling equipment. Most of the guys here have been working with tools their whole lives. We do not talk much while the machines are running because you cannot hear anything anyway. Dhandari Kalan is a tough area, very industrial, very grey. But there is a lot of work happening. We get orders from all over the state. Sometimes the designs are complicated and we have to sit down and figure out how to cut the mold just right. It takes patience and a steady hand. We do not have a receptionist; if someone walks in, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and goes to see what they need. It is a basic shop. We have some storage racks against the wall for the finished tools. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move the crates around. It is just a regular workshop where we do what we know how to do. We just keep the machines running and finish the molds on time.
