Hi-Con Auto Industries

Our shop, Hi-Con Auto Industries, is tucked away on Street No. 2 off Daba Road in the Shimla Puri area. The address says Plot No. 4061, which can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't familiar with these narrow streets. There is always a lot of movement around here, with scooters and small trucks trying to navigate the turns. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of grease. We make parts, and that involves a lot of manual work and keeping the machines running. It’s definitely not a clean environment, but that is the nature of auto industries. We have oil stains on the floor and stacks of components waiting to be shipped out to customers. Most of the guys here have been working with engines and parts since they were young. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you walk in, you’ll probably see someone in overalls or a dusty shirt. We handle the orders as they come in and try to keep up with the demand from the local garages. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy throughout the month. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It is a simple life here on Daba Road, just making parts and getting through the week as best as we can.
