About Chauhan Ashok Kumar Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Ludhiana
I've been at H.No.13 for a good while now. New Dashmesh Nagar is where I usually spend my days, mostly hunkered over a desk. Ayali Khurd is a quiet enough spot, which helps when I'm trying to figure out how a room should look or where a wall needs to go. My name is Chauhan Ashok Kumar, and I’ve always preferred working close to home. It’s a bit messy here sometimes, with papers everywhere and pens that always seem to run out of ink right when you need them. People often ask me why I don't have a big fancy office downtown, but the house works just fine for what I do. I spend a lot of time looking at site plans and drinking tea while the neighbors go about their business outside. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoons, so I usually end up moving my chair around to stay in the shade. It’s not a big operation, just me doing the work that comes in. Sometimes the drawings take longer than expected, especially when the ideas don't quite fit the space. I like the challenge of it, though. Every house in this part of town has its own quirks, and I've seen a lot of them over the years. It’s a simple life, really, just drawing and planning and making sure things stand up straight. I don't really bother with flashy signs. The old ceiling fan makes a rhythmic clicking noise that I’ve stopped noticing, but it keeps the air moving while I'm focused on the sketches.
