About Burma Cloth House – Fashion & Trends in Ludhiana
You can find us in the Main Bazar in Khanna. Burma Cloth House has been part of this street for a long time. It’s a busy spot, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping for the house. We have rows and rows of cloth stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a lot of work just keeping the dust off the rolls. When a customer comes in, we pull down different fabrics, spread them out on the long wooden tables, and let them feel the material. We don't have any fancy lighting or air conditioning, just a couple of big fans that move the air around. It gets quite loud with the noise from the bazar coming in through the front. We talk to a lot of people every day, mostly about what kind of suit they want or how much fabric is needed for a shirt. We measure everything out by hand with an old wooden ruler. It’s a traditional way of doing things, I guess. My family has been doing this for years, and we know most of the people who walk past our door. Sometimes we just sit on the stools and watch the crowd go by when it’s slow. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just sell cloth and try to give people a fair price for what they’re buying. It’s a simple business in a very busy market.
