Sarangal Steel Works

Our shop is at Plot No. 2 in Heaven City, which is on Street No. 1 in Bhamian Khurd. It is right near the Indian Gas Godown, which is the easiest way to tell people how to find us. If you hit the Bharat Box Factory on Tajpur Road, you have gone just a little too far. The area is always full of heavy trucks and the smell of exhaust. We spend most of the day surrounded by steel rods and sheets. The sound of the cutters and the grinders is pretty constant from eight in the morning until late evening. It gets very dusty on Tajpur Road, so we are always wiping down the benches. We have a small space inside where we keep the finished work, but the raw steel takes up most of the room. The building is a simple brick structure and we have painted the name on the front so people don't miss it. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved and by the end of the shift, everyone is pretty tired. We usually have a tea break around four o’clock when the sun starts to dip a bit. It is not a quiet place to work, but it is what we know. We have been in this part of Ludhiana for a long time now and have seen the neighborhood change as more godowns and factories moved in. The Indian Gas Godown next door is always busy too.
