Ak Dyeing

We’re located in the Jaswal Complex, right across from the Central Jail on Tajpur Road in Bhamian Kalan. It’s a landmark that everyone knows, so we don't have to give directions too often. Ak Dyeing is a place where things are always wet and colorful. We spend our days working with different fabrics and dyes, trying to get the shades just right. It’s messy work, and our hands are usually stained by the time we go home. The floor is often damp, so we all wear rubber boots. We have these large vats that we use, and they take a lot of heat to get going. The steam makes the air thick, especially in the summer months. It isn't a job for everyone, but we've got a rhythm down. We don't have a website or a marketing person; we just do the dyeing for the local textile shops and factories nearby. Most of our customers just drop by or call us on the mobile. We keep a notebook for all the different color recipes we use. Sometimes we have to wait for the water supply to be steady before we can start a big batch. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing. At the end of the day, we hang everything up to dry and hope the weather stays clear and dry overnight.
