Atam Machines Pvt Ltd is over on Street Number 8/1 in Baba Mukand Singh Nagar. We are just off Daba Road, which connects back to the main G.T. Road here in Ludhiana. This part of Punjab is full of small factories and workshops, so we are right in the thick of it. Our place isn't anything to brag about. It’s a functional building where we keep the machines running. We spend a lot of time on the shop floor. It’s loud and usually smells like oil and metal, but that’s just how we like it. We aren't corporate people with suits and ties. Most of the time, we are in our work clothes, dealing with whatever comes up that day. The streets around here can be a bit narrow and crowded, especially when deliveries are being made. We know most of the other business owners on the street, and we often help each other out. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just try to get the machines out on time and make sure they work the way they should. It’s a lot of manual effort and long hours, especially during the busy season. Ludhiana is a hardworking city, and we just try to keep up with that pace. It’s a basic operation, but we’ve been at it for a long time. There is always a lot of tea drinking and talking over the noise of the machines while we work. It's just how we do things.
