Ashu Confectionery & Butter Popcorn Corner

If you go to Dugri 156 you will find us at Ashu Confectionery & Butter Popcorn Corner. The first thing you will notice when you get close is the smell of the butter melting and the popcorn popping in the machine. We have a small corner where we make the popcorn fresh all day long. It’s a simple setup with a few glass cases for the sweets and other snacks we keep. We get a lot of kids coming by after school and families who stop in the evening for a treat. Dugri 156 is a good spot for us because there are always people walking around the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the popcorn is salted just right. It gets pretty hot standing next to the kettle but we are used to it by now. We also have various types of candies and biscuits tucked away on the shelves behind the counter. We don't have any fancy seating, most people just grab their bag of popcorn and keep on walking. It’s a small family run thing and we spend a lot of effort keeping the machine running smoothly. Sometimes we run out of the usual bags and have to use whatever we have on hand, but the popcorn still tastes the same. We like seeing the same people every day and hearing about what’s going on in their lives. It’s just a nice little corner for us to be in.
