If you head over to Thapar Market in Wait Ganj, you will find us at Ashish Knit Exports. It’s a busy part of the city, and our space is usually overflowing with bundles of knitted goods. We don’t have a fancy showroom because most of our work is about moving stock. You’ll see big sacks of sweaters or shirts piled up near the entrance, waiting to be loaded onto a cart or truck. The air smells like new fabric and a bit of machine oil. We’ve been in Wait Ganj for quite some time, and we know how the market works. It’s a noisy, fast-paced environment where everyone is looking for a deal. Our desks are covered in notebooks and lists of what needs to go where. We don’t really do retail, so we don't have many walk-in customers looking for a single piece. It’s more about the bulk orders and the steady grind of the textile trade. The building is old, and the stairs are narrow, making it a bit of a challenge when we are moving heavy loads. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused throughout the day. There isn’t much time for small talk, but we always have a moment for our regulars who have been buying from us for years. It’s a straightforward business built on long days and a lot of heavy lifting. We just keep our heads down and get the work done as best as we can.
