Arya Army Store

Our shop is right at Neem Wala Chowk, near Iqbal Ganj Road. It’s Shop No. B.X-508, and it’s been here for quite some time. We sell all sorts of items for people in the services, mostly uniforms and badges and things like that. The shop is quite small and we have shelves stacked all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find a specific size right away because there is so much stuff packed in here. The chowk outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people shouting. We spend our days helping customers who come in looking for very specific items. Some of them are young recruits and some have been in the army for years. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. It gets really busy during the recruitment seasons. We don't have a website or anything like that, people just know to come to the shop. We sit on small stools behind the counter and talk to the regulars who stop by just to say hello. It’s a traditional kind of store. We don't use a lot of technology, just a simple ledger and a cash box. It has been our life for a long time and we like the bustle of the market. We don't have many employees, just family members who take turns looking after the counter every single day. We keep the shutters half-down when the sun is too bright.
