Arvind Forgings is out on G T Road, specifically in the Textile Colony at unit B 20. Being near the main road means we get a lot of heavy traffic passing by all day and night. The colony itself is quite old and has a lot of history with the local industry. Our building is a sturdy one, which is good because the forging work can be quite heavy and loud. We have big hammers and furnaces that stay hot for hours. The floor is usually covered in some soot, no matter how much we sweep it. It is just the nature of what we do at Arvind Forgings. Most of the staff has been with us for years, so we all know the rhythm of the work. We don't talk much while the machines are running because you can't hear anything anyway. We use hand signals mostly. It is a bit of a gritty place to work, but we are proud of the stuff we make. There are no fancy offices here, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the records. We have a heavy metal door that we slide shut every evening. The keys are bulky and the lock is a bit temperamental, but it keeps the place secure. We don't have a lot of fancy lights, just some basic bulbs hanging from the ceiling. It is a very practical setup without any frills or decorations on the walls.
