Aneja General Store

You can find us at Chaura Bazar near the Girja Ghar Chowk. This is one of the oldest parts of the city and it is always packed with people. Our store is a general store, so we sell a little bit of everything. We have soap, toothpaste, snacks, and small household items. The shelves are packed right up to the ceiling. Sometimes I have to use a long stick to get things down for customers. It is very loud outside because of the rickshaws and the people shouting. We have been here at this corner for a long time. My father started this and now I run it. It is not a supermarket. It is just a local shop where you can get what you need quickly. The floor is worn down from all the feet walking on it over the years. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that spins fast. During the festivals, the crowd is so thick you can hardly move. We stay open late because that is when people finish their work and come to buy things for dinner. It is a tiring life but we like being in the heart of the bazar. We know the milkman and the cloth sellers nearby. Every day is different even though we are selling the same things. It is just a regular life in a busy place. We greet the regulars and watch the world go by from the counter.
