Aman Grewal Tent Service

Aman Grewal Tent Service is based out in Village Birmi, which is quite close to the Mullanpur Mandi. We’re just off the Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana, so we see a lot of trucks and tractors going past every single day. Being near the mandi means we are used to the dust and the busy season when everyone is moving crops. Our yard is full of iron poles, heavy canvas sheets, and stacks of wooden chairs. It’s a lot of physical labor, loading the truck in the dark and driving out to some field to set everything up before the sun gets too high. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we have, you just come to the village and we’ll show you the stuff in the warehouse. My cousins and I do most of the heavy lifting ourselves. It’s honest work, even if it’s exhausting. We have to keep an eye on the weather because a big wind can really mess up a tent if you haven't tied it down right. Sometimes we’re working in Mullanpur Mandi itself, setting up stalls or shade for the workers. It’s not a glamorous job, and our clothes are usually covered in some kind of dirt or grease from the truck. But we’ve been part of the village for a long time, and we just keep doing what we do.
