The shop is at 274 New Cloth Market on Pindi Street. It’s a very old part of the city and the lanes are narrow, so you can’t really bring a big car down here. We are surrounded by fabric shops, so the whole area smells like new cotton and dye. Inside our place, we have shelves stacked high with novelties. We’ve got clocks, vases, and all those little things people buy when they don't know what else to get. The space is long and thin. I usually sit near the front door to catch whatever breeze comes down the alley. It gets very hot in the afternoons. We have a lot of regulars who have been coming to Pindi Street for decades. They usually stop in to chat even if they aren't buying anything. I spend a lot of time dusting the glass items because the street outside is always under construction or something. There are boxes piled up in the corners that I haven't gone through in months. It’s a bit chaotic, but I know where the important stuff is. We don't have a computer system, just a big ledger where I write everything down by hand. Sometimes the ink smudges if I’m not careful. It’s just a normal shop in a very busy, crowded market where everybody knows everyone else's business.
