A P Hosiery Industries operates out of Shivpuri Bldg No 1 in Kothrud, which is a fairly busy spot most days. The building itself is older, and we are tucked away inside where we run our knitting machines and sort through different types of hosiery. It gets a bit cramped when the new yarn arrives because the hallways aren't very wide. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work, though you can barely hear it over the sound of the equipment. Being in Kothrud means there are plenty of places to grab a quick snack nearby, which is good because we often stay late to finish up a batch. The stairs in the building are steep, and we have to be careful when we are carrying heavy bundles up and down. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist; usually, you just walk in and find someone covered in bits of lint or thread. It is a practical setup where we focus on getting the work done without much fuss. Most of our days are spent checking the tension on the machines or bagging up finished pairs. Sometimes the neighbors in the building complain about the vibrations, but we try to keep things quiet during the off-hours. It’s a simple business run by people who have lived in this area for years. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily production one box at a time.
