We started this health point because there were a lot of families around here who needed a place nearby. The building itself is pretty simple and we don’t have any of those big shiny signs you see at the corporate places downtown. Inside it’s mostly just white walls and tile floors that we spend a lot of time cleaning. The waiting room gets crowded in the afternoons especially when it’s hot outside and everyone wants to sit under the fans. We have a small group of doctors and staff who live nearby so it feels more like a local spot than a big institution. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of town and we have to switch over to the generator which makes a lot of noise. Nobody seems to mind though as long as they get seen. We do our best to keep things moving but sometimes there is a wait. That’s just how it goes in a place like this. We handle a bit of everything here from minor stuff to more serious things that come through the door. It’s a quiet life in thakurganj most days except for when the market is busy. We just keep doing what we do and looking after the folks who walk in.
