Shri Arihant General Store

Shri Arihant General Store has been here at Engineering College Chauraha for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot in Lucknow, especially with all the students and folks living around Ring Road. My name is on the sign but it's really just a place where we keep the essentials people need every day. You know how it is, someone forgets milk or needs a quick snack and they drop by. We open up pretty early in the morning because the traffic starts early here. Sometimes the dust from Ring Road gets into the shop so we are always cleaning the counters. It’s not a big fancy place, just a regular general store with shelves full of things like soap, biscuits, and notebooks. The students from the engineering college come in mostly for pens or quick eats between their classes. We try to keep what they ask for. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home. I usually sit near the counter while my nephew helps with the stock. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, more cars and more shops popping up everywhere. But we just stay here doing our thing at the chauraha. It’s hard work standing all day but we know most of the people who walk through the door by name now. That’s just how it goes in a neighborhood shop like ours. Nothing too complicated about it. We just keep the lights on.
