Shanti Fertilizers

Down here in Barabanki, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Shanti Fertilizers is our place where we handle stuff for the local farms. It’s basically a big warehouse full of bags. You can smell the earth and the chemicals as soon as you walk in. We spend our mornings talking to the farmers about what they need for their crops this season. Whether it’s wheat or something else, we usually have the bags ready to go. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust from the sacks being moved around. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the area well. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we have to stay late to unload them. It’s physical work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the day. Barabanki is a good place for this kind of business because everyone knows everyone. We don’t do much advertising because people just know where we are. We just provide what’s needed for the soil and hope for good rain for everyone. The office part is just a small desk in the corner with a ledger. We don't need much more than that to keep things running. It’s a simple life and we like being part of the farming community here in this part of the state.
