Shabana Khan

Shabana Khan has been here at 14/18 Udai Ganj for a while now. This part of Lucknow, right on Cantt Road, is always busy with people heading to work or running errands. It is a simple place where we just do our daily tasks. Most of our neighbors know where to find us. We don't have fancy signs or anything like that. It is just a regular spot in Udai Ganj. Sometimes the traffic on Cant Road gets a bit much, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out. We see a lot of the same faces every day. It's nice because you get to know people. They stop by, maybe ask a question, or just say hello. The building is old but it works for what we need. Lucknow is a big city but this little corner feels more like a small neighborhood. We try to keep things tidy and get through the day. Sometimes it’s hot, sometimes it rains, but the work stays the same. People come from different parts of the city because they know the area well. It isn't a big operation. Just us working here and trying to do a decent job for whoever walks through the door. There’s not much more to it than that. We are just here, day in and day out, doing what needs to be done. It's home for us in a way. We like being part of the local scene here near the road.
