Sas Nelson Hospital

Opposite Pragati Market in Kapoorthala, there’s always something going on. If you know the area, you know how the traffic gets around the market. Our hospital sits right there, so we get all that noise and energy inside the lobby too. I’ve worked here a while now and you just get used to the sound of rickshaws and people shouting about vegetable prices outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter but not by much. The patients come in all day, some looking very worried and others just here for a quick check. We don't have those shiny brochures or a big marketing team telling us what to say. We just tell people where to sit and wait their turn. The reception desk is usually piled with folders and papers because there’s a lot of recording to do. Sometimes the tea man comes around and that’s the best part of the afternoon. The building itself has been here for a bit, and you can see it in the corners of the rooms. It’s a practical place for people who live in this part of town. We don’t do anything flashy. Most of the staff live nearby, so we know the regulars who come in. It’s just a normal hospital doing normal stuff every day, trying to help folks out without making a big fuss about it.
