Rako Mercantile Traders

Our place is at No. 126/1 on Deva Road, right in the Goyala Industrial Area. We are pretty close to the Tata Motor plant, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. Being in an industrial area means it’s always busy with trucks and heavy machinery moving around. We are mercantile traders, so our space is basically a big warehouse with a small office section carved out. There are crates and boxes stacked up everywhere. It’s not the cleanest place in the world because of all the loading and unloading, but we know where everything is. We spend our days checking manifests and talking to drivers. It’s a lot of physical work, moving stock and organizing the shelves. The noise from the nearby factories is something you just stop hearing after a while. We don't have a fancy showroom or a website with lots of photos. We just do our trading, buy and sell what’s needed, and keep the business moving. It’s a small team, mostly just a few guys handling the inventory and the local deliveries. We usually have a tea break in the afternoon when things slow down a bit. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living in a very busy part of town. The office is just a desk with a phone and a lot of logbooks. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, but we just sweep it out and keep going.
