Quraishi Clinic

If you go down into the basement at Arab House, you will find our clinic. We are located on Ganga Prasad Road in the Maulviganj area of Lucknow. It is a very old part of town with narrow streets and lots of shops selling everything from clothes to hardware. Just opposite us is the Masjid Khawas, and you can always hear the call to prayer throughout the day, which gives the place a calm feeling despite the outside traffic. The basement stays a bit cooler than the street level, which is a relief when the Lucknow summer is at its peak. We have a few chairs set up for patients and a desk where we keep the registers. It gets a little cramped when many people show up at once, but everyone usually finds a spot to stand or sit. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up fine for now. We mostly see local people from the neighborhood who have been coming to this area for years. The Arab House building has its own history too. It is not a place with big signs or bright lights. Most people find us because they know the landmark of the Masjid or they have lived in Maulviganj their whole lives. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for whoever needs to see the doctor.
