Our workshop is located in the village of Bal Singh Khera, which is under the Post Karora area. It’s a quiet place compared to the city. We are surrounded by fields and open space. Most of our work involves fixing up vehicles that come through the village. We have a dirt yard where we keep the cars and bikes that are waiting for parts. It gets quite dusty when the wind blows, but we don't mind it. Inside the shed, we have all our tools laid out on old wooden benches. There is always the smell of engine oil and grease in the air. We spend a lot of our time under hoods or changing out tires. It’s a manual job and our hands are rarely clean. People from the nearby villages know to come to us when something breaks down. We don't have any computers or digital systems here. We just know what needs to be fixed by looking at it and listening to the engine. In the afternoons, we usually sit outside on some old tires and have a break. Sometimes progress is slow because we have to wait for parts to come in from the city. But that’s just how it is out here. We take our time and make sure things are done right before the customer takes their vehicle back home. It’s a steady life and we like being part of the village community.
