MUKHTAR HUSAIN ZARI WALA PRIVATE LIMITED

Our shop is located at Shop No. GF-9, right on Gautam Buddh Marg in Lucknow. It is a busy street, and the noise from the traffic never really stops during the day. Inside Mukhtar Husain Zari Wala Private Limited, things are a bit different though. We spend our hours surrounded by various types of zari work and the tools we use for it. It is not a very big space, but we have made it work for us over the years. You can usually find a few of us sitting near the front, checking the latest batches that come in. The light isn't always the best, so we use some extra lamps to see the fine details of the embroidery. People in the neighborhood know us by name, and they often drop by just to say hello or ask about a specific design. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or a big reception area because the work takes up most of the room. Sometimes the floor is covered in scraps and thread, but that’s just part of the process. We prefer it this way, staying close to the actual craft instead of sitting in a glass office somewhere else. Lucknow has a long history with this kind of work, and being right here on the ground feels right to us. We just keep our heads down, do the day's work, and hope the electricity stays on so we can finish our tasks before it gets too dark outside.
