Janta Foundry is located right opposite the Aishbagh Police Chowki. We are near the Eid Gah in the Aishbagh area, which is a place that everyone around here knows. Working in a foundry is hot and heavy work, there’s no way around that. We spend our time with molds and metal, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually covered in a bit of soot or sand. It’s a traditional kind of business, not like these new tech offices you see in the city. We’ve got old tools that have worked for years and we see no reason to change them if they still do the job. The police station being right across from us makes the area feel pretty safe, though the traffic near the Eid Gah can get a bit crazy during festival times. We don't have any polished brochures or a fancy mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar and a list of things that need to be cast by Friday. The air in the shop is always thick with the smell of hot iron, and the noise of the hammers is just part of the background. We have tea twice a day, and that’s when everyone takes a break and sits outside for a bit of air. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it’s honest and it’s what we know how to do best after all these years.
